Frontier Cafe in Grinnell

Nice place to stop by for a bite. Gotta stop in to see how it's decorated. Like walking into a cafe back in the 70's. The food is good, too. Friendly waitress.

This place has incredibly low prices for the quality and quantity of food you get! 9 of us ate here and all enjoyed it. There was a little bit of a wait, but it was a Sunday morning. Even with the place packed, the food came quick!

Great food, great prices (almost everything under$10) . Dinner meals includes ice cream. They have a senior menu. Large variety of food. Service was great and would check to see if you needed anything often. I would return again next time I'm in the area.

Good food, spaghetti was a little watery but other than that good. Wife had veggie skillet which she really enjoyed. Not bad pricing for 2 meals with leftovers for later. Nice little family restaurant.

This was the first time I had eaten there. Wasn't aware of this before today. We had very quick service. A large selection to choose from. Was pleased that they serve breakfast all day. They have just about anything you can wish for. I and my friends were very satisfied with our choices.

We chose a random place to meet between Des Moines and Iowa City and this was it. Wow! What a great place! Employees were super friendly and the food was fantastic!

Great traditional breakfast place. Service was very good and the food was tasty. I highly recommend the biscuit bowl. I went with 4 stars because the coffee was uninspiring.

A great local gem of a diner in the downtown area. The setting in the older downtown and the atmosphere of the dinner was quite cosy. The wait staff as well as the owner kept our glasses filled. Each meal in our group of six enjoyed their meal. My steak and eggs were freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The menu prices were low considering portion size and quality of food. I look forward to being in the area so I can eat here again.

If you are looking for food that is like home cooking, this is the place. There's a great variety of choices. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of food you receive.

Was seated promptly. Server took my drink order quickly and recommended several options off the menu. I picked a meat skillet to eat. Skillet came hot and ready to eat. Server topped off my drink and gave me the bill. I was not rushed out nor hassled into ordering more food. Good stop and a nice little cafe.

Ate lunch here 5 days in a row while on vacation. Lots of food for your money, all very tasty, all-around great place! Yum!

Wife ordered spaghetti and so did my youngest... it had more water than sauce. my shrimp scampi had no flavor and coffee tastes like it had been made with old grounds. Tasted old and weak. Server was the only positive thing about the stop she had a good attitude to be serving the quality of food the cooks gave her

We like eating here. Chili is amazing, fries are always tasty. The service sometimes isn't ideal but the good food makes up for it.

The hotel counterperson suggested this place upon my asking for recommendations. Good food, nice waitstaff and a cozy ambiance. Prices were very reasonable.

Love the variety of homemade goodness. Lots of options from healthy to comfort food. Their cinnamon roll is bigger than my hand! Hot Beef always on the menu!

Very friendly people and really good food.

I went to the cafe with a group of six. The cafe was clean, and had a pleasant atmosphere. The employees and guests were friendly. Our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived hot. Nice selection on the menu and everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.

Traveling through and happened into this cage. A real hometown feel. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was good with large portions

This is the place to be for Sunday lunch. They were busy but the food came quick. Delicious! (Leaving them a big tip for all the running around the waitress did)

Some of their food is very good, but most items on the menu are very disappointing. Never had a bad experience with wait times or staff though. Good for a quick meal.

I had a dinner here. My main dish came as it is in the picture. I was very impressed by how gorgeous it is!!

Great place to eat. People of all ages. Owner was helping clear tables and seat people. Waitresses attentive and helpful. Full menu with extensive variety of choices. From the look of other tables they satisfied any taste. From sandwich to breakfast, full meals to dessert. Seen one gentleman with large take out order. Service was fast! Food served hot . We enjoyed our meals. Will definitely return in the future if in the area. We chose it because we noticed both sides of the street was filled with cars as well as the parking lot on the side and back. That said good food! And we were right!! They are open daily for breakfast through 3 in the afternoon. We got there at noon with a 2 minutes wait.😁
